Mizuna Gardens is a small but intensive market garden located in Warren, Oregon, specializing in growing salad greens for Portland area restaurants. We are only 30 minutes outside the city along the Columbia River near the Scappoose Bay Watershed and the Sauvie Island National Wildlife Area. We practice all natural and sustainable growing methods; no chemicals of any kind are used. We are Certified Naturally Grown. We have been supplying some of the finest restaurants in Portland since 1993.
We grow many unusual and heirloom varieties of greens to use in our salad mixes. Our signature 'Wild Salad Mix' contains over 50 types of greens and herbs that change seasonally. They have been chosen after years of experimenting and listening to the chefs we work with. Based on the enthusiastic comments we receive, the passion we have for salad comes through in our final products.
What makes our salad mixes different than most others, in addition to all the unusual greens we include, is that we grow the plants to maturity before harvesting them. This allows the full flavor, color and texture to develop resulting in a superior product. People are continually amazed by the flavors.
Our greens are harvested, washed and dried by hand so nothing is bruised by machines. They are treated with great care before delivering to you the morning after harvest. We are conscientious about every detail from planting to delivery. We are small by choice as we refuse to allow compromise in the quality of our produce or personal service to our valued customers, some of whom we have been working with as long as we've been in business - 18 years now!
